About the Author

Dear reader,

I was born on the 9th of March 1992. I’m from Perth, Western Australia. Stories and writing have always been a part of my life. I started telling stories soon after I began hearing them and I recorded my first story when I was only six years old. I have always written or recorded my stories on cassette tapes or as MP3’s. I guess you could say that, ultimately, I’ve always enjoyed spinning a good yarn.

I have cerebral palsy and a sequencing issue, so sometimes life can be pretty difficult. This makes using a keyboard problematic. I can type with my right hand but it is only with one finger and it takes a very long time. But I’ve always found an incredible freedom in writing stories. God has blessed me with an incredible gift, which has given me the freedom to create worlds.

I figured if great people, such as J. R. R. Tolkien, could write, so could I. Disability has never been a barrier for me, so I decided to put my language skills to good use and finally created my first actual novel: The Master of Names.

When voice recognition software finally came out, I bought the first Mac speech voice recognition system. Then I moved on to Dragon® for Mac and that is when the magic of this book began. I wrote the first eight chapters in one sitting without stopping. A constant flow of pictures flooded onto the page. Using this great software I began on my journey with Plum and we created a story together. And as I wrote, I watched a world being created right in front of my very eyes: Seinen, the Battle of the Burning Hells, all of it.

I credit the inspiration of this novel to the countless fantasy worlds I had access to in audiobooks, computer games, and dreams. Being surrounded by these fantastical visions sparked my imagination to write. I hope this book will give others a great insight into my imagination and the world of Lore.

To the aspiring authors out there, never give up on your dreams. Don’t be afraid to try. Sit down and write your story, even if it’s just for a few minutes a day. These are the words I will leave you with now. I hope you enjoy my novel!
